This pair of brass spurs with rotary wheels is engraved “Major W. H. Stark Jan. 17, 1863”; stamped inside each is “Tiffanies New York.”
Major Stark mustered into service on August 22, 1861, at St. Louis as captain of Company I, 24th Missouri; he was promoted to major on January 5, 1863, and to lieutenant colonel on April 21, 1863.
He was mustered out at the expiration of his term of service on January 7, 1865.
