1867 Map of Indian Territory
This post-Civil War map depicts the Indian Territory in pale yellow. At the time the map was drawn, Indian Territory included extreme south-central Kansas and nearly half of what is now the state of Oklahoma. The map also shows small areas of Indian Territory in other regions of Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico. The map was prepared by the U. S. War Department.
