This elongated black leather shot pouch has what is possibly a gutta-percha spout with grooves; the stopper is missing.
Pouch was carried by Jon Noble, Missouri State Guard, at the Battle of Wilson’s Creek, August 10, 1861.
Although some Missouri State Guardsmen carried military weapons and equipment, many utilized civilian weapons and personal hunting equipment, generally brought from home when the men enlisted.
